David Hatcher, United States Army Reserves Major, SAMS Surveyor Associate, and ABYC certified Marine Standards Advisor is the Owner and Principal Marine Surveyor for Atlantic Southeast Marine, LLC. Read below for experience and education.
David Hatcher grew up in Lakeland, FL and enlisted in the United States Army in 2007. He worked his way up to Staff Sergeant before attending Officer Candidate School to commission as an officer in the United States Army. As an officer, he has held positions as a Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Battalion Intelligence Officer, Company Commander, and Operations Officer. After nearly 14 years of Active Duty and several injuries later, he decided to transfer to the United States Army Reserves to finish his remaining four (6) years in the military. During his time in the military he has participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn (Iraq), Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), and one overseas tour to South Korea. He has also been assigned to prestigious units such as the 2nd Infantry Division, 3rd Infantry Division, 82nd Airborne Division, the 201st Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade, and the 2500th Military Intelligence Group. His expertise, attention to detail, leadership, and determination to find deficiencies followed with well thought-out solutions sets him apart from his peers.
After separating from Active Duty and joining the Reserves, he attended the Chapman School of Seamanship Yacht and Small Craft Survey course which is considered by many to be the "Gold Standard" for Marine Survey training. He also attended Chapman's Fundamentals of the Damage and Claims Survey course. He is a certified ABYC Marine Standards Advisor, and Surveyor Associate with the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors.
In addition to Marine Surveying education, he has also received a Bachelors of Arts from Thomas Edison State University, and Associates of Arts from Polk State College, and is currently enrolled in a Occupational Associates of Arts at Jones Technical Institute for the Marine and RV Technologies program. He has also attended the University of Alabama, University of South Florida, and Cochise College.
David enjoys boating, fishing, diving, kayaking, and marine life. He is excited to begin a new chapter with his his love for boats with Marine Surveying. His education in the marine field, military experience, and upbringing allow him to provide exceptional service and attention to detail for his clients. His goal is to make his clients feel safe on the water and confident in their purchase/investment.
